Can I call to book an appointment?
Why do you require prepayment when booking?
The Lullabar operates differently from many traditional nail salons in North County San Diego.
Our nail technicians are employees, not independent contractors, and they receive professional training, structured schedules, and benefits.
Because we operate as a high-volume, appointment-based luxury nail salon, prepayment allows us to reserve each technician's time and ensure their schedule is protected.
This also helps maintain a smooth experience at the front desk, especially since The Lullabar also operates a coffee shop and multiple services within the same space.
Pre-booking allows our team to manage the flow of check-ins and provide a more seamless guest experience.
What is your cancellation policy?
All services and deposits are non-refundable.
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time. With at least 48 hours' notice, the value of your service may be converted to an account credit for future use.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the appointment are subject to a $35 fee to preserve the remaining service value as an account credit.
Same-day cancellations and no-shows are not eligible for account credit.
All account credits are valid for one year and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
What happens if I arrive late?
We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early to allow time for parking and check-in. For the easiest parking, we recommend parking near Arhaus.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your service may be shortened or canceled in order to stay on schedule for the next guest.
If your service is shortened due to late arrival, no refund or credit will be issued. If your appointment is canceled due to late arrival, it will be treated as a no-show and will not be eligible for a refund or account credit, as the appointment time was reserved specifically for you.
What happens if my nail technician becomes unavailable?
If a technician becomes unavailable due to illness or scheduling conflicts, our team will do our best to move your appointment to another qualified technician at the same time.
If that is not possible, we will offer the next available appointment and hold the spot while confirming with you.
If you prefer to wait for your specific technician and the new appointment time does not work for you, a refund may be requested.
Service Changes & Add-Ons
Can I change my service or add extras when I arrive?
We will always do our best to accommodate service changes or add-ons, but this is not guaranteed.
The Lullabar is an appointment-based luxury nail salon, and each service is booked with a specific amount of time reserved for your technician.
Some add-ons, such as Gel-X overlays, French designs, or removals, can require an additional 20–45 minutes or more.
If our schedule allows, we are happy to adjust your service. However, if we are fully booked or running on a tight schedule, we may not be able to accommodate additional services.
What happens if my add-on cannot be accommodated?
If we are unable to add additional services due to timing or scheduling constraints, we will proceed with the original service that was booked.
We recommend booking all desired services in advance to ensure enough time is reserved for your appointment.
Can I cancel my appointment if add-ons cannot be accommodated?
Once your appointment has begun and your service is in progress, the appointment is considered active and reserved.
If additional services cannot be accommodated and you choose not to continue with your original service, refunds will not be issued, as the appointment time has already been allocated and your service has started.
Why can't you always accommodate add-ons?
Many of our services require extended time and precision, and our technicians are often booked back-to-back.
Allowing last-minute service changes that require significant additional time would impact the experience of other scheduled guests.
To maintain a smooth and respectful experience for all clients, we must honor the time reserved for each appointment.
How can I make sure I get everything I want during my appointment?
The best way to ensure your appointment goes exactly as planned is to book all desired services and add-ons in advance.

Some of the most commonly missed add-ons include:
- Gel removal (if you currently have gel on your nails)
- French design (adds additional time to your service)
These add-ons can be selected during booking, or our team can add them for you when you text us.
Booking everything in advance ensures your technician has the proper time allocated and helps avoid limitations during your appointment.
Are additional services guaranteed if I request them in person?
No. Additional services cannot be guaranteed without prior booking.
We will always try to accommodate when possible, but availability depends on the schedule and time reserved for your appointment.

What nail systems do you specialize in?
At The Lullabar we focus on nail systems that support long-lasting results while prioritizing natural nail health. Our most popular services include:

What is a Structured Gel Manicure?
Our Structured Gel Manicure is the most requested service at our Carlsbad luxury nail salon.
This service uses builder gel to strengthen the natural nail while maintaining a clean, natural appearance. Structured gel typically lasts 3-4 weeks with proper care.
Instead of removing the product each visit, we perform a fill, meaning builder gel is added to the growth area as the nail grows. This helps preserve the integrity of the natural nail since repeated removals can thin the nail plate.
We use Orly builder gel products that are TPO-free.
What is Dazzle Dry?
Dazzle Dry is a lacquer system, not a gel, but it is often considered a gel alternative because it dries quickly and lasts longer than traditional polish.
All of our nail technicians are certified in Dazzle Dry. It is a great option for guests who want durability without the need for gel removal.
Dazzle Dry is also known for its cleaner formulation and is:
- Vegan
- Non-toxic focused
- 14-free / 15-free formula
What is the Advanced Gel-X Overlay?
We offer Advanced Gel-X Overlay services using Apres systems.
Many clients today have nails that are thin or compromised from previous nail services, which can make traditional extensions difficult to retain.
Our advanced technique focuses on properly fusing the overlay to the natural nail bed, creating stronger retention and a more natural appearance compared to press-on style extensions.
These services typically last 4-5 weeks with proper care.
What is European Hard Gel?
We also offer European Hard Gel services using high-quality Ukrainian professional products from Dark.
European hard gel is known for its durability and precise sculpting techniques. With proper care, these services can last 5-6 weeks before a fill is needed.
Do you offer acrylic or dip powder services?
No. The Lullabar does not offer acrylic or dip powder systems.
Our salon focuses on services that support long-term nail health, which is why we specialize in structured gel, European hard gel, Gel-X overlays, and Dazzle Dry.
Do you offer pedicures?
Yes. We offer both classic pedicures and gel pedicures.
Our pedicure services include relaxing treatments such as medical-grade paraffin, which helps deeply hydrate and soften the skin.
Nail Health & Safety
Why might my nail appointment be declined?
To maintain the cleanliness and health standards of our salon, we cannot perform services on nails showing signs of:
- Fungal infections
- Bacterial growth
- Open wounds
- Severe nail damage
If this occurs, we may recommend consulting a medical professional before returning for nail services.
What if a nail infection is discovered during removal?
Sometimes infections become visible only after product removal.
If this occurs during your appointment, we will safely remove the product and help reschedule your service once the nail has healed.
Why can lifting cause infections?
If gel or structured gel begins to lift, moisture can become trapped between the product and the natural nail.
Over time, this moisture can create an environment where bacteria or fungus may develop.
For this reason, we recommend addressing lifting early and maintaining regular nail appointments.
Cleanliness & Sanitation
How does The Lullabar maintain cleanliness?
We follow all sanitation standards required by the California Board of Cosmetology. Our sanitation practices include:
- Tools cleaned and sanitized after every client
- Metal tools soaked in Barbicide for a minimum of 10 minutes
- Pedicure basins disinfected between each service
- Workstations cleaned throughout the day
- Single-use items discarded when required
Our goal is to maintain a clean, professional, and comfortable environment for every guest.
Are your products clean or non-toxic?
We prioritize using cleaner professional nail products whenever possible.
Our gel systems are TPO-free, and many of our products are selected with an emphasis on vegan, non-toxic focused formulations.
All professional gel systems contain certain chemical ingredients required for durability and curing, but we carefully select brands that balance performance with cleaner standards.
Coffee & Perks
Can I order coffee during my nail appointment?
Yes. The Lullabar also features a specialty coffee shop serving espresso drinks made with La Colombe beans and ceremonial grade matcha.
Guests are welcome to order coffee, matcha drinks, pastries, or cafe items, and our barista team will bring your order directly to your nail station.
Do you offer perks for rebooking?
Yes. If you pre-book your next nail appointment before leaving, you will receive a complimentary 12 oz cafe drink at your next visit.
Your free drink will be noted in your client profile.
Payments & Tipping
How can I tip my nail technician?
Tips may be provided through:

We have Venmo QR codes for each nail technician available at the front desk.

Where should I park?
There is ample parking throughout the plaza.
Many guests find convenient parking at Arhaus, located right next door to The Lullabar.
Parents Visiting The Salon
Can I bring my child to my appointment?
Yes. Many parents visit The Lullabar with their children.
Limited childcare may be available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM, though availability may vary on Saturdays due to birthday parties and events.
Our front desk team can help coordinate childcare when booking.
Community Standards
What type of environment does The Lullabar aim to create?
The Lullabar is designed to be a welcoming community space centered around quality, kindness, and professionalism.
We do not tolerate disrespectful or unkind behavior toward our staff or other guests.
If this occurs, the client may be asked to leave the salon without a refund.
