Includ(Ed) & The Lullabar are here to help you demystify child development and translate it into your real human life with your real human child. No filters. No judgment. Just real learning with real experts. 

Program Dates: Each Monday from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM.
11/13, 11/20, 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18.

You will learn about human development, brain development, social development, the forms of communication, and all things motor and sensory. Hang with us to understand how powerful play time really is!

Our staff of developmental experts will help you learn how to support and be present with your child. We want you to leave this 6 week course feeling empowered, feeling present, and feeling compassionate with yourself. Come for the experts, stay for the community.

Class details:

Class 1: Taming Tummy Time: Pus Torticollis Tips & Prevention Led by Natalia Blackman PT, DPT, PCS

Tummy time is a natural position in which our babies experience life. From those sweet tummies, they learn to use their muscles and joints, and even start to move around in the world. But, even though we know we need to practice this position daily with our young babies, it can be quite tricky to master! Come join us and learn to problem solve and support your individual child.

Class 2: Sitting Pretty Led by Natalia Blackman PT, DPT, PCS

Interested in learning natural ways to support and progress your child’s sitting skills? Curious what equipment to snag and what to leave in the bag? We’ve got you covered. Come join us to learn all the tools to help your child get to sitting!

Class 3: Sensory Play is the Way! Led by Natalia Blackman PT, DPT, PCS & Hailey Hofstee Early Childhood Special Educator

Life IS a sensory experience! Come learn about the sensory systems, how they influence movement, and how they connect to brain development. Join us to learn realistic tips and knowledge to ease anxiety and engage in sensory play with your kid anytime, anywhere.

Class 4: Moving & Grooving: Crawling, Bottom Scooting, Rolling, Army Crawling

There are so many ways we learn to move our bodies through space! Each movement can tells us a story about your child.Come learn how to make sense of all the timelines and ways your child “ should “ be crawling or moving. Learn how the muscles and sensory systems and body all work together and specific tips to meet your child exactly where they are. Even if your child isn’t ready to be moving or crawling there will be something for everyone!

Class 5: All Areas of Development Day! Natalia Blackman PT, DPT, PCS & Hailey Hofstee Early Childhood Special Educator & SLP & Certified DIR Floortime Provider

Being Human isn’t one thing, it is ALL the things. Join our trans-disciplinary team for a class that touches on all the areas of development. Come learn, play, and feel empowered alongside your child.

Class 6: Communication is more than Cute! It’s in everything we do! Led By SLP & Certified DIR Floortime Provider

Communication is so much more than speech and language. Communication happens within the context of a relationship! Come join us for a refreshing, soul-filling reframe on what language, learning and communication ACTUALLY is. Get concrete tools for your individual child in their communication journey.


Child Development Program with Includ(Ed)! | 6-12 MOS & Parent | 6 Week Program
Our 6 week program will occur each Mondays from November 13th to December 18th.

You will learn about human development, brain development, social development, the forms of communication, and all things motor and sensory. Hang with us to understand how powerful play time really is!

Program Price: $240 for 6 weeks. We will prorate the package if the booking exceeds the program’s start date.

Program Dates: Mondays at 9:30 AM from November 13th to December 18th.

At The Lullabar, we offer a boutique-style class experience tailored just for you. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide makeup classes for missed sessions, and no refunds for missed classes. We greatly appreciate your understanding regarding this policy.


About the Instructors:

Kelly Penny MA CCC-SLP

Kelly is a licensed speech-language pathologist and certified DIR Floortime clinician who uses a teamwork based ‘whole-child’ approach to speech therapy. She has a deep understanding of how communication challenges intersect with other areas of development and values the incredible role that parents have in teaching their children to talk. Her belief that joyful connection should be the root of all shared communication drives her to find fun and creative ways to nurture each child at an individual level.

At home you will find Kelly modeling English, Spanish, and American Sign Language with her baby boy. She makes time every day for play, laughter, and learning something new

Hailey Hofstee Early Childhood Special Educator

Hailey is an education specialist with 5 years of experience in special education preschool classrooms. She is passionate about expanding access to excellent, inclusive early childhood education and learning to ALL children and families. She loves being a partner to families as we all navigate the ups and downs of parenting together. She is certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and Capistrano Autism Training (CAT) providing behavioral support and strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

She is a mom of two littles who enjoys pilates, family time at the park, and cheering on the Padres in her free time.

Natalia Blackman PT DPT PCS

Natalia is a holistic, trauma-sensitive clinician with over 10 years experience in the field. She is a Doctor of PT, a Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist, a Brain Development Instructor (Zero to Three), a Guest Lecturer & Educator (PIMA medical Institute, St. Augustine, Rady Children’s Hospital) Parent Coach (Positive Discipline) and Early childhood Co-Chair of the COI San Diego.

Program Developer of intergenerational family wellness program. Special interests and extensive education in how current societal norms & practices, social environment, mental health, neurobiology, parenting & attachment, and our sensory systems influence child development and wellbeing. As an Innovative, holistic practitioner she believes we cannot pull one thread of the human experience or development or system without affecting all the rest. We must support and empower the entirety of what it means to be human in the caregiver- child dyad, classroom, community, healthcare system and beyond to truly create the change we all want and need. She is a wife and mother to three incredible boys 6, 4 and 1. She loves any and all outdoor adventures with her family, yoga, dance and writing.
